Year 2: Quarter 3 Summary

We have started the new year strong! While schools and students were getting acclimated with the new year and semester beginning, our group was planning for upcoming events and meeting with other organizations to find new opportunities for partnership and activities. We met with groups like Easter Seals, WIGU and Young Women’s Resource Center all of whom reached out wanting to pursue a partnership to work with the Polk County Healthcare Workforce Collaborative.

We Also hosted our final Discover Healthcare Day at Grand View University. Over 100 students attended our event, and according to the post-event survey, it seemed go over very well with everyone! We had most partners attend the event to offer a variety of careers to learn from. In fact, all four colleges/universities attended the Question and Answer panel at the end, offering answers to all types of questions from the students in attendance.

Our Pathway Navigator was also very busy meeting with students as they prepared for the Spring semester. She is currently working with about 20 students, and is beginning to utilize the PCHWC CRM to communicate regularly through a newsletter to students who have expressed a higher interest in pursuing a career in healthcare.
